Research divison Thermal Process Engineering and Simulation at the Institute of Chemical Engineering, Vienna University of Technology

Nowadays computer models are frequently used to vary operating parameters of separation processes in order to learn about the dependencies and to optimize the process. This so-called process simulation is based on models tuned with experimental data, has included large libraries to calculate physical and thermodynamical properties of substances and mixtures and allows to analyze single unit operations as well as complex combinations of unit operations. The simulation results are valuable not only for the scale-up of processes but also for a better understanding of the complex behaviour of process combinations. It saves time and money during the development and optimization of processes.



Project work is done in close collaboration with the Working Group Sustainable Process Engineering & Chemometrics
